Information For Authors

Editorial and Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to Annals of Advanced Medical Sciences are evaluated through a structured editorial and peer review process.
 
Initially, the editorial office screens the submitted manuscript to assess its suitability for the journal’s scope, originality, and compliance with submission guidelines. Manuscripts that do not meet basic requirements or lack scientific merit may be rejected at this stage.
 
Manuscripts considered suitable are sent for double-blind peer review, where the identities of both authors and reviewers remain confidential. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent experts in the relevant field.
 
Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the editorial team may:

  • Accept the manuscript

  • Request minor or major revisions

  • Reject the manuscript

Authors receiving revision requests must submit a point-by-point response addressing reviewer comments. The final decision regarding publication rests with the Editor-in-Chief.
 
Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting, formatting, and proof preparation before publication.

Submission Policy

Submission of a manuscript to Annals of Advanced Medical Sciences indicates that:

  • The manuscript is original and has not been previously published.

  • The manuscript is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

  • All authors have approved the submitted version of the manuscript.

  • Ethical guidelines have been followed during the research.

Authors must designate one corresponding author who will communicate with the editorial office during the review and publication process.

Manuscript Submission

Manuscripts may be submitted through the journal’s online submission system or via email to the editorial office.

During submission, authors should provide:

  • Full title of the manuscript

  • Names and affiliations of all authors

  • Corresponding author contact details

  • Abstract and keywords

  • Complete manuscript file

  • Figures and tables (if applicable)

Authors must designate one corresponding author who will communicate with the editorial office during the review and publication process.

Authorship Criteria

All authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. If no conflict of interest exists, authors should state:

  • Conceptualisation or design of the study, data acquisition, or data analysis and interpretation.

  • Drafting or critically revising the manuscript.

  • Final approval of the manuscript prior to publication.

  • Individuals who contributed to the study but do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged in the Acknowledgements section.

  • The order of authors should reflect their contributions to the work.

Conflict of Interest

All authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. If no conflict of interest exists, authors should state:

“The authors declare no conflict of interest.”

 

Publication Ethics

Annals of Advanced Medical Sciences follows internationally accepted ethical standards in scholarly publishing.

The journal adheres to the ethical principles outlined by:

  • International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE)

  • Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)

Research involving human participants must comply with the Declaration of Helsinki, and studies involving animals must follow institutional or national guidelines for animal care.
 
Authors must confirm that ethical approval was obtained from an institutional ethics committee when applicable.

Plagiarism Policy

The journal maintains a strict policy against plagiarism. All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software.
 
Manuscripts containing substantial plagiarism or duplicate publication will be rejected. If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the article may be retracted and the authors’ institutions may be notified.

Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Authors who use generative artificial intelligence tools during manuscript preparation must clearly disclose the use of such tools in the manuscript.
 
AI tools may assist with language editing or formatting; however, they cannot be listed as authors and do not replace the responsibility of authors for the integrity and accuracy of the research.

Types of Manuscripts

The journal accepts the following categories of manuscripts:

Original Research Articles

Original research articles should typically include the following sections:

  • Abstract
  • Keywords
  • Introduction
  • Materials and Methods
  • Results
  • Discussion
  • Conclusion
  • References
  • Tables and Figures

Review Articles

Review articles provide a comprehensive analysis of a specific topic and should summarize current knowledge, recent developments, and future directions.
Word limit: 3000–5000 words
Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses

These manuscripts should follow PRISMA guidelines and clearly describe the search strategy, inclusion criteria, and analysis methods.

Case Reports

Case reports should present rare or clinically significant cases that offer valuable learning points.
Sections include:

  • Abstract
  • Introduction
  • Case Presentation
  • Discussion
  • Conclusion

Word limit: 1000–1500 words

Letters to the Editor

Letters may comment on articles published in the journal or present brief observations relevant to medical practice.

Word limit: 500–1000 words

References

References should be numbered consecutively in the order in which they appear in the text and formatted according to the Vancouver citation style.
 
For articles with more than six authors, list the first six authors followed by et al.

Tables and Figures

  • Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively in the order they appear in the text.
  • Tables should be self-explanatory and include clear titles and footnotes when necessary.
  • Figures should be submitted in high-resolution formats such as JPEG or TIFF.

Data Availability Statement

Authors must provide a statement indicating where the data supporting the findings of the study can be accessed. If the data are not publicly available, the authors should indicate how the data can be obtained upon reasonable request.

Acknowledgements

Authors may acknowledge individuals or organizations that contributed to the research but do not meet authorship criteria.

Financial Disclosure

Authors must disclose any funding sources that supported the research, including grant numbers if applicable.
 If the study received no funding, authors should state:
“This research received no external funding.”

Title Page / First Page File / Cover Letter

The title page file should contain all author and institutional details. This information will not be shared with reviewers to maintain the integrity of the double-blind peer review process.

The title page should include:

  • Type of manuscript (Original Article, Review Article, Case Report, Letter to the Editor, etc.)
  • Full title of the manuscript
  • Short running title
  • Names of all authors with their highest academic degrees
  • Institutional affiliations and department details for each author
  • Name of the institution where the work was conducted
  • Corresponding author’s full contact information including postal address, telephone number, and email address

Authors should also provide:

  • Total number of manuscript pages
  • Number of tables and figures
  • Word count of the abstract and main manuscript text (excluding references and tables)

If the work has been presented at a conference or scientific meeting, the name of the conference, location, and date should be clearly mentioned.
Authors must confirm that:

  • The manuscript has not been published previously.
  • The manuscript is not under consideration in another journal.
  • All authors have read and approved the submitted manuscript.
  • The study represents original and honest work.

If the study is a clinical trial, the clinical trial registration number and registry details (name and URL) must be provided.
The title page file should be submitted in DOC, DOCX, or RTF format. Compressed files (ZIP format) should not be uploaded.

Figures AND Tables

Figures and images should be submitted as separate high-resolution files.

Authors should follow these guidelines:

  • Images should be in JPEG or TIFF format.
  • Maximum file size per image: 2 MB.
  • Recommended image dimensions: 1600 × 1200 pixels (approximately 5–6 inches).
  • Each figure should be numbered in the order of appearance in the manuscript.
  • Data presented in tables, graphs, and text should not be repeated.
  • Actual numerical data used to create graphs should be available and provided if required.
  • Figures should be necessary, clear, and of good quality (preferably colour).
  • Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively using Arabic numerals (e.g., Table 1, Figure 1).
  • Photographs should not contain author or institutional identifiers.
  • Figure legends should be provided separately and should not exceed 40 words.
  • Patient confidentiality must be maintained; identifiable images require written patient consent.
  • Borrowed or adapted tables and figures must include a proper credit note and permission from the original source.
  • All abbreviations used in tables should be written in full form in the footnote when first mentioned.

Ethical Considerations

Studies involving human participants must comply with the ethical standards of the relevant institutional ethics committee and the Declaration of Helsinki.
Authors should clearly state::

  • Approval from the institutional ethics committee
  • Informed consent obtained from participants

Studies involving animals should comply with institutional and national guidelines for animal care and use.

The journal reserves the right to reject studies that do not comply with ethical standards. :
